Garson Farm WINS Pick Your Own of the Year!
We are thrilled to announce that Garson Farm, in Esher, Surrey has been named Pick Your Own of the Year at the 2025 Farm Retail Association (FRA) Awards! This prestigious accolade celebrates the very best in farm retail, and we are incredibly proud to be recognised for our dedication to providing top-quality produce and an outstanding pick-your-own experience.
The awards ceremony took place on Wednesday, 12th March 2025, at The Eastside Rooms in Birmingham, as part of the FRA’s annual conference. Hosted by renowned food and drink broadcaster Nigel Barden and sponsored by Fieldfare, the event brought together leading farm retailers from across the UK.
One of Garsons very own directors, Peter Thompson, is proudly a founding member of The Farm Retail Association (FRA), which has been supporting independent farm retailers for 46 years, and its annual awards are the only ones judged by fellow farm retailers. This year’s competition featured eight categories, celebrating everything from farm shops and farmers' markets to cafés and butchers.
FRA Chair Emma Mosey praised all the winners, saying: “Every year, it is an honour to celebrate the farm shops, farmers' markets, and PYO businesses that belong to the FRA. These businesses are the heart of our communities, bridging the gap between field and fork, and providing fresh, nutritious produce with low food miles. Congratulations to all our winners this year.”
FRA Patron Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall also acknowledged the passion and dedication of the industry: “These awards are a true testament to the drive and excitement for good local food that all the winners and finalists bring to their businesses. It’s wonderful to celebrate the values and ethos of the farming community and the FRA.”
