The Garden of Life

Garsons Titchfield was pleased to help support Queen Alexandra Hospital’s newly designed ‘Garden of Life’. The hospital which is supported by our Charity of the Year Portsmouth Hospitals Charity, unveiled the garden in June of which we proudly were invited. We gladly donated £100 worth of vouchers to help fund the garden and Callum from our team of plant experts, happily helped with recommendations of suitable plants for the tranquil area to add instant colour and scent.

Competition

Portsmouth Hospitals Charity held a competition for staff to name the new garden which they received nearly 200 entries. Two members of staff who submitted the winning name ‘Garden of Life’ were both presented with a Garsons hamper and vouchers at the official opening which we gifted.

Accessible for everyone

The area has been designed to accommodate wheelchairs and a hospital bed, meaning patients who are in hospital for extended periods of time can spend time in calm surroundings out in the fresh air and see beautiful plants that reflect the heritage of the site.

Portsmouth Hospitals Charity marked the official opening of the ‘Garden of Life’ located within the grounds of Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth on 9th June 2021. Garsons Titchfield was honoured to be asked to be at the ceremony of which Callum and Kirsty from our team attended, along with The Portsmouth News.

Therapeutic outside space

The ‘Garden of Life’ equipped with seating is aimed at providing staff, patients and visitors with a therapeutic outside space where they can take a break, relax and socialise away from a ward environment. In addition, the garden is a space for reflection and is dotted with beautiful memorial stones.
