Make & Take at The Tipi: Children's Summer Holiday Events

Join us at Garsons, Esher during the summer holidays, for a selection of fun-filled creative children's events in our dedicated event space, The Tipi. Each session will take inspiration from the beauty of spring nature and colours, allowing children to get creative whilst learning a little about the world around them.
Session times are 09:30, 11:00 & 1:30. Tickets cost £6.56 (usual price £7.50). Children’s events this summer are reduced as we’re proud to be taking part in the Government’s Great British Savings Scheme. Subject to availability.
TUESDAY 28TH JULY & WEDNESDAY 19TH AUGUST | GRASS PET HEDGEHOG
During the session, children will transform two colourful socks into their very own grass pet hedgehogs. They can then take them home, look after them carefully, and wait for those grassy prickles to appear!
WEDNESDAY 29TH JULY & TUESDAY 18TH AUGUST | BEACH HUT BIRD FEEDER
During the session, children will be able to turn a metal bird feeder into their very own little bird beach hut. They will be guided on how to draw some fun seaside icons to transform and decorate the bird beach hut feeder. Take it home, and the birds will soon be chirping "Oh I do like to be beside the seaside…"!
THURSDAY 30TH JULY | DROP IN RAINBOW CRAFT WITH OUR CHARITY OF THE YEAR, RAINBOW TRUST
Join our Charity of the Year, Rainbow Trust, at the Tipi on Thursday 30th July from 9.30am - 3pm. For a donation, children will make a rainbow-themed craft. All materials are provided, and the wonderful Rainbow Trust representatives will be there to help. It promises to be a very colourful day! Please note this is a drop-in session; no pre-booking is required. However, if the Tipi is full, you may be asked to come back when it's less busy.
TUESDAY 4TH AUGUST | MINI SCARECROW
Children will make their very own mini scarecrow using a hessian bag, felt, straw and acrylic pens. It will make a perfect addition to any garden, allowing you to rest while the scarecrow looks out for any unwanted visitors!
WEDNESDAY 5TH AUGUST | CACTUS PEBBLE POTS
In this fun workshop, children will make their own cactus pots using pebbles, glue and acrylic pens. They will draw inspiration from Aztec designs to decorate their pots before assembling their cactus. This is the perfect craft for someone who might not be very confident looking after house plants, as these pebble cacti don't need watering!
THURSDAY 6TH AUGUST | SUMMER BUNTING
Children will make and decorate their own bunting using felt, ribbon, glue and acrylic pens. They will be shown summer-inspired ideas and given advice on decorating their pendants. They will then take it home to hang up for everyone to admire!
TUESDAY 11TH AUGUST | SUMMER DREAM CATCHER
The workshop is ideal for slightly older children, aged 8 to 14, who will create their own dream catchers in their favourite colour schemes. They will learn knot-tying and weaving skills. Once completed, this craft will make a wonderful decoration for any bedroom and help capture their enchanted dreams while they sleep.
WEDNESDAY 12TH AUGUST | SEASIDE INSECT HOUSE
During the session, children will decorate a wooden insect box using acrylic paint pens. They will be guided in drawing fun seaside images to decorate it. Take it home, and the insects will soon be moving in!
THURSDAY 13TH AUGUST | SUMMER WATERING CAN
Children will learn the importance of keeping plants happy and hydrated by decorating their very own metal watering can using summer designs and acrylic paint pens. (Watering Can dimensions: H11 x W28 x D20cm 1.6 litres).
THURSDAY 20TH AUGUST | BUSY BEE HOUSE
Children will decorate their very own bee house using acrylic paint pens. It will make a perfect addition to any garden, giving bees a little break from their buzzy, busy working day! They will receive advice and inspiration on how to decorate it, as well as the importance of caring for our busy bee friends.
Each session costs £6.56 per child (usual price £7.50)
Sessions are 45-60 minutes.
The recommended age range for activities is 4 - 10 years. Excluding Summer Deamcatcher, which is recommended for those aged 8 to 14.

When you confirm and purchase an event ticket booking, you are accepting that these terms and conditions form the basis of any contract between Garsons and yourself.
- You are responsible for checking prior to purchasing event tickets that you are booking at the correct venue you require. Garsons has two stores, Esher, Surrey and Titchfield, Hampshire. Garsons are not obliged to inform you, refund, or transfer event tickets that have been booked in error.
- Tickets are non-refundable unless otherwise stated. You are welcome to give your ticket/s to family and friends if you are unable to attend by sending them your booking email confirmation, to which the same terms and conditions apply.
- A maximum of 6 tickets is permitted per booking, per transaction
- Please arrive at least 5 minutes before the event start time
- Garsons reserves the right to refuse event admission, including late arrivals
- Garsons reserves the right to cancel the event at any given time, in which case a full refund will be given
- Please notify in advance of any allergies prior to the date of the event, such as GLUE
- Garsons does not accept any liability if clothes get damaged. Events often include elements of craft, glueing, painting, colouring or planting.
- Photos and filming may be taken during the event by Garsons or the event company for promotional purposes. They could be published on social media channels, Garsons and/or event company websites, or other digital marketing communications and channels. We will endeavour to inform you of this during the event; however, should you wish to opt out, please notify us at the time of booking for our records before the event, or at the start of the event to the event organiser.
- CHILDREN'S EVENTS: For Make & Take and other child-based events: Children are to be supervised at all times. A 1 x Child ticket will need to be purchased for each child, which will allow for an accompanying parent/guardian. Space is limited, please try to keep to only one accompanying adult per child/family. Buggies may need to be left outside the event venue. Please dress children in appropriate everyday clothes that you don't mind getting a little messy in. Please arrive at least 5 minutes before the activity starts so your child has time to settle in; prior to arriving please also factor in a toilet stop. The majority of ‘Make & Take’ sessions are approx. 45 mins to 1 hour.
