Garsons wheelchairs re-cycled

Garsons have recently purchased 7 new wheelchairs for customer use at Esher. Our customer services desk now offers free loans from a smartly branded selection of standard, extra wide and self-steered models to suit all needs.

The previous wheelchairs were over 10 years old, still serviceable but looking a little tired. As a member of Kingston Rotary Club, Peter Thompson was able to co-ordinate with Rotary’s Freewheeling Project who collect and “recycle” unwanted wheelchairs and make them available free of charge to the needy disabled people in Southern Africa.

Peter delivered 4 wheelchairs to the Rotary Club of Ottershaw who load and dispatch containers to Africa. Rotary have shipped over 30,000 wheelchairs since the project started in 1992.
